PIGEON & BIRD CONTROL SERVICES
Pigeon & Bird Control – Netting, Spikes & Solar Panel Cleaning in Southern California
Birds are great in the sky, not on your roof, under your solar panels, or nesting inside your building. Pigeons, sparrows, starlings and swallows leave heavy droppings, corrode metal, clog drains, attract insects, and create real health concerns for families, employees and customers.
Urban Wildlife Trapping Experts provides professional pigeon and bird control across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. We handle everything: inspections, bird removal, stealth netting and bird spikes, solar panel pigeon proofing, cleanup of bird feces, and long-term exclusion so flocks stop coming back.

Common Signs You Need Pigeon or Bird Control
Some bird issues are obvious – other times you just notice a smell or hear scratching behind a sign. During your inspection we look for all of the following:
- Heavy pigeon droppings on roofs, AC units, walkways or building ledges.
- Birds nesting in eaves, under roof tiles, inside attic vents or wall voids.
- Mud swallow nests stuck to stucco or wood, staining the sides of the house.
- Sparrows cramming nests into dryer vents, bathroom vents and hood vents.
- Starlings flocking on trees, parking lot lights and overhead wires.
- Constant cooing, flapping or fluttering sounds above ceilings or in soffits.
- White streaks of droppings on signs, awnings, windowsills and walkways.
- Bird mites or insects moving from nesting areas into offices or living spaces.
Left alone, pigeons and birds don’t just “move on.” They return to the same safe, covered spots year after year, adding more droppings, more nesting material and more damage. Our goal is to remove the current birds and stop your structure from acting like a bird hotel.
Solar Panel Pigeon Problems – Cleaning, Sanitation & Exclusion
Solar panels are perfect pigeon real estate – shade, protection from hawks, and a nice warm ledge. The problem is what they leave behind: piles of droppings, nesting material, broken eggs and dead birds packed tight under your array.
How Pigeons Damage Solar Panels & Roofs
- Corrosive droppings eating into mounting hardware, drip edge and flashing.
- Nesting material blocking drainage, causing water to back up onto the roof.
- Odors drifting into attic vents, upstairs windows and neighboring homes.
- Noise at dawn and dusk as entire flocks arrive to roost and take off.
Our Solar Panel Bird Control Process
- Careful removal of nesting material and debris from under and around panels.
- Scraping and washing accessible droppings from the roof surface.
- Sanitizing and deodorizing affected areas to reduce bacteria, parasites and odor.
- Installing solar panel exclusion mesh / critter guards so pigeons cannot get back under the array.
All work is done with respect for your roof, solar panel wiring and any warranty requirements. We’ll show you before-and-after photos so you can see exactly what was done and where pigeons were living.
Bird Exclusion, Stealth Netting & Deterrents That Actually Work
Real bird control is about blocking access and changing behavior, not just “scaring” birds for a week. We combine structural exclusion, heavy-duty products and, when needed, humane trapping to clear problem areas and keep birds from coming back.
Stealth Netting (StealthNet) – Full Area Exclusion
Stealth netting is low-visibility, high-strength bird net stretched across an opening or volume so birds simply cannot fly into the area. It’s ideal for:
- Loading docks, warehouse canopies and covered parking structures.
- Storefront signs, architectural overhangs and beams where birds roost.
- Courtyards, balconies and interior light wells.
Professional systems such as StealthNet are considered some of the strongest and most versatile bird exclusion tools available, keeping birds out while blending into the architecture when installed correctly.
Other Bird Deterrents & Exclusion Options
- Bird spikes – stainless steel spikes for ledges, signs and flat surfaces where pigeons perch.
- Shock / low-profile track systems – thin electrified tracks that condition birds to stay off high-visibility ledges and parapets.
- BirdSlide & angled ledge covers – make ledges too slick for birds to roost on without changing the look of the building.
- Optical gels and spot deterrents – multi-sensory repellents for tight or delicate architectural features.
- Bird trapping – humane capture of persistent pigeons, starlings or sparrows in heavy pressure sites.
Every job gets a custom plan. A simple homeowner vent problem might only need screening and cleanup. A large commercial site may require a combination of netting, spikes, track and long-term maintenance.
When birds have been inside structures or over living areas for a long time, we can coordinate with attic cleaning, crawlspace decontamination and exclusion & damage repair to restore the space properly.
Bird Dropping Cleanup, Odor Control & Health Concerns
Bird feces is more than just ugly. Large accumulations can damage surfaces and create genuine health risks. We regularly see:
- Concrete and metal eaten away by the acidity in pigeon droppings.
- Insulation saturated with dried feces and feathers in attics and signs.
- Strong ammonia-like odors drifting into homes and offices.
- Insects, maggots and bird mites feeding on droppings and dead birds.
Bird droppings can also carry bacteria and pathogens that affect people and pets. Documented issues include psittacosis, salmonellosis, avian influenza, and other respiratory concerns when dried droppings are disturbed and become airborne.
Our Bird Waste Cleanup Process
- Secure the area and use proper protective gear.
- Carefully remove bulk droppings, nesting material, dead birds and debris.
- HEPA-vacuum contaminated insulation or surfaces where appropriate.
- Apply disinfectants and deodorizers designed for bird waste and organic contamination.
- Recommend or perform attic restoration or crawlspace cleanup if contamination is heavy.
Our goal is simple: no birds, no droppings, no ongoing health concerns – and a structure that’s harder for birds to reclaim.

Pigeon & Bird Control FAQs
Can you just scare the birds away instead of installing products?
Temporary scare tactics – fake owls, noise makers, flashing tape – may work for a few days, but urban pigeons and birds quickly get used to them. For long-term results, you need physical exclusion like spikes, netting or screens that make the spot unusable for birds.
Is bird netting ugly?
When it’s installed correctly, professional stealth netting is low-profile and tensioned so it disappears from a distance. We anchor it to cables and hardware designed for bird work, not random hooks or screws, so it looks clean and blends into the structure.
Will you pressure-wash everything?
Sometimes, but not always. High-pressure washing over open entry points or attics can drive contamination deeper into the structure. We use a mix of scraping, wetting, vacuuming and washing depending on the surface and what’s underneath, then apply disinfectants and deodorizers.
Do you work on active businesses and HOAs?
Yes. A lot of our bird work is on storefronts, shopping centers, gas stations, restaurants and HOA common areas. We can schedule early-morning or off-peak-hour work and set up safety barriers so customers and residents stay out of the work zone.
Can you guarantee birds will never come back?
No company can honestly promise that no bird will ever land on your building again. What we do guarantee is the workmanship and materials we install – spikes, netting, screening, track and guards – and we design the job so birds can’t easily take the same roosting and nesting spots again.
